Canvassing in the dark evenings

Good evening everyone I'm a new member but certainly not new to the trade.

For those that are canvassing in these dark evenings when everyone bolts their house up at 6pm. How do you approach this? I personally feel it makes the job a lot harder and feels like are intruding even further than normal!

I have a sweater with white letters so it's visible Need a window cleaner?

So rather than unlocking fort Knox they can either give you the thumbs up or thumbs down gladiatorial style!

Personally I'd wait until weekends during the day at this time of the year mate, like you said people are always quite suspicious on the darker evenings
