Hi I would be grateful for some advice. I have very sensitive skin and cleaning windows in the heat makes me come up with a heat rash. I wear a sun hat and use an spf50 on my face in the heat and top this up every couple of hours. Is there anything else anyone can suggest I can use to protect my face from heat and prevent me from coming up with this heat rash.

@Andy! I have two caps I switch about in the summer just incase I'm too hot and it gets sweat on it. You can buy them made of sun protection material. I think I got mine from marks and Spencer ages ago. Your skin will be another matter and you're better off asking the doctor. I do use a sun cream that doesn't block skin pores which helps my skin as it's also a bit sensitive. It isn't water proof (that's what blocks the skin pores on some people and then they get a rash), so you have to get used to when to reapply it. You might find asking in your local chemist they might be able to recommend something.

Thank you pal for replying really appreciated. I have attached a picture of the hat I use for the heat which is brilliant. I will pop into my local chemist or contact doctors for further advice regarding the skin.

Always good to have a good hat mate @Andy! .
Absolutely it will be best to ask a medical person for advice on your skin. Hope you get on well buddy 👍

Have to make sure you protect your neck as well.
I have one of those cricket hats and am always slapping on the factor 50. However there is a little gap at the bottom of the neck that is vulnerable.
Last year I had a purple mark that appeared. I went to the doctor, who then sent me to a specialist down in Rochester.
Turned out to be skin cancer. Had to have an operation where I had 23 stitches inside my neck then stitches on the outside to cut it all out.
I was very lucky as it wasn’t melononia and I got the all clear.
Obviously I’m more susceptible to this sort of thing as I’m a member of the superior race being ginger, however my skin isn’t as white as most gingers.
I now have bought a cricket style hat with the foreign legion type protector at the back.
The sun might make you feel better and in small doses is good for you. But as the dermatologist said, suntans are for the vain.
Be careful when the summer comes around boys and girls!

Being that you have a skin condition I'd highly recommend seeking the correct advice from your doctor or dermatologist. Poor advice on our part could lead to skin damage or chemical burns

Thanks for the reply pal. I am waiting for an appointment been referred to a dermatologist by the doctor.

Obviously the Temu product is far fetched for our job as can where a hat unlike swimmers but the saltwater flats fishing type neck covering is something I'm going to look into as the back of my neck gets mahogany coloured even with SPF face cream and sun cream reapplied during the day. My work uniform is polo necks with the collar but still feel the heat on the hot days (few up here in NE but stil hot)

If you weren't already aware, the back of your neck is the bodies internal thermostat location. If you can cool the neck the body will regulate it's temperature and in turn cool you down. The less overall heat will also help keep your face from flaring up.

Military neck coolers which you soak in water and refrigerate over night and wear throughout the day will offer some relief
Having two of them and taking a spare in ice cold water within a click & lock lunchbox and keeping it away from the sun and in the shade of the van will leave you a spare.

You can also get civilian versions which are more like a wet scarf and don't last as long

I have sensitive skin and also used to come out in a heat rash even whilst wearing sunscreen until I read the only ones that work are those that contain zinc oxide or titanium oxide. Try Nivea kids protect and care available at Boots and Tesco. Works for me.
